Make 2025 the Year You Step Into Coaching
By Angela Cox, last updated March 26, 2025

If 2024 left you feeling stuck in the same routine and wondering when you’ll finally make the change you’ve been dreaming about, let me tell you this: 2025 can be the year you flick the switch.

Coaching isn’t just a career—it’s a calling.

It’s the opportunity to step into a role where you guide, empower, and inspire others, all while creating a life that fulfils you.

Step 1: Get Clear on Why Coaching Excites You

Before anything else, ask yourself: Why do I want to coach?

Is it to help people navigate their careers?

To guide leaders towards their full potential?

To empower individuals to overcome life’s hurdles?

Take time to reflect on the why behind this career switch.

Knowing your purpose will not only keep you motivated but will also help you identify the type of coaching that’s right for you—whether that’s life coaching, business coaching, or something more niche.

Step 2: Research Your Path

Coaching is incredibly flexible, but the path to success varies depending on your goals.

  • Look into different coaching qualifications—do you need a certification, or can you build on your existing expertise?
  • Explore niches that align with your passions (e.g., leadership, health, relationships).
  • Talk to coaches who inspire you or join online forums to learn about their journeys.

Understanding the landscape is key to making informed decisions about your next steps.

Step 3: Start Building Your Skillset

Coaching isn’t just about listening—it’s about seeing what isn’t being said, facilitating growth, and challenging clients to think differently.

Here’s how you can get started:

  • Read foundational coaching books like Co-Active Coaching
    or The Coaching Habit.
  • Join the Paseda360 Coach Club or attend workshops to see what resonates with you.
  • Practice active listening and powerful questioning in your everyday conversations.

Step 4: Choose a Training Programme

Investing in a coaching qualification is a big step, but it’s one that can open doors and give you the confidence to succeed.

When choosing a programme, ask:

  • Is it accredited by a recognised body like the ICF or AC?
  • Does it fit my schedule and budget?
  • Does it focus on the type of coaching I want to do?

At Paseda360, we offer human-centric coach training that’s designed to empower career switchers like you, blending practical tools with real-world application.

Step 5: Get Visible

Once you’ve started your training, it’s time to let the world know what you’re up to. Start small:

  • Update your LinkedIn profile with your coaching aspirations.
  • Share posts about what you’re learning and the transformation you’re going through.
  • Tell friends, family, and colleagues—your first clients often come from your existing network.

Visibility is key to building trust and showing potential clients what you’re about.

Step 6: Gain Experience

Coaching is a skill you refine through practice.

  • Start offering pro bono sessions to colleagues.
  • Use these opportunities to test your methods, learn what works, and build confidence.
  • Collect testimonials that you can use to promote your services later on.

Every session will teach you something new about yourself and your style as a coach.

Step 7: Create Your Transition Plan

If you’re switching careers, it’s important to have a roadmap for how you’ll balance coaching with your current commitments.

  • Decide whether you’ll start part-time while working or make a full-time leap.
  • Set financial goals for your first year—how many clients do you need to cover your expenses?
  • Build a routine that gives you space to grow your coaching practice without burning out.

Remember, this is a journey. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it does have to start.

The Future of Coaching Will Belong to People Who Understand Humans, Not Just Models
By Angela Cox, last updated June 13, 2026
I’ve spent the last few weeks quietly watching something happen across the coaching industry. More coaching schools are talking about emotional regulation. More academics are discussing the limits of traditional coaching models. More leadership experts are recognising that asking good questions alone does not automatically create transformation. And honestly, I’m pleased to see it. Because for years, many of us

We’re Coaching the Mask, not the Person
By Angela Cox, last updated May 29, 2026
A world where people arrived into conversations with enough internal space to reflect clearly, think rationally and access honest insight simply because somebody asked a good question. But that isn’t the world we’re living in now. People are exhausted. Not just tired, but neurologically overloaded. Constant stimulation. Constant pressure. Constant performance. And then they arrive into coaching carrying all of

Most coaching starts in completely the wrong place
By Angela Cox, last updated May 26, 2026
It starts with goals, visions, purpose statements, values exercises, and questions about where somebody wants to be in five years, which sounds sensible until you spend enough time sitting opposite real human beings and realise that many people have absolutely no idea what they genuinely want because they have spent years building a life around coping, adapting, surviving, pleasing, performing,

Nothing Looks Wrong. That’s the Problem
By Angela Cox, last updated April 28, 2026
There are people in your organisation who are doing exactly what you need them to do, and they are doing it in a way that gives you no reason to question it. They deliver, they take responsibility, and they hold things together when it matters. You don’t need to chase them, and you don’t need to double check their work.
